OlanikeeOsi CEO @SelfishBabes + @GoddessDetox

1. What exactly are you into? What is your business all about?

I am really into being myself at the moment and allowing all of me to fully express on the daily.

I have two businesses. One is named Goddess Detox, which is a self-love inspired company that provides products to physically, spiritually and emotionally detox.

The other is named #SelfishBabe – a lifestyle and personal development brand where women learn how to selfishly and authentically love themselves.

2. Please, can our readers get to know you?

Yes, here is some information on me: I consider myself a self-love manifestor helping woman globally learn to love themselves selfishly and authentically including myself.

I am 26 years old. I am a passionate, chill and spiritual woman. I enjoy deep conversations on spirituality, manifesting and making dreams happen.

I love watching anime as one of my MUST self-care to do’s. I also enjoy taking spiritual herbal baths, listening to the Nujubes and Alina Baraz Pandora Stations. I am Jamaican. I love to travel internationally as this reminds me of the abundance in the world.I am very determined.

I enjoy strong and connected female sisterhood. I love alternative rock bands like Paramore and Pvris. I love foreign films because it doesn’t always end as a happy ending. Writing in my journal and podcasting are ways I enjoy expressing myself. I know my ancestors, God, Universe and spirit guides support me. The love I have for them is infinite.

3. What inspired you to get started?

Why Did I Get Started?

Goddess Detox:

I originally got started in business to raise money for a study abroad trip to Tanzania. After I came back, I continued the business and I found a feminine herbal product that worked during the time I was deep into a book named Sacred Woman by Queen Afua. I was learning about crystal healing, womb work, affirmations and decided to focus on women.

I was in my second year of grad school and started to sell the Goddess Vaginal Detox Pearls. I learned about social media promotion and from there I got more people to know about my product and gained a following. But I wasn’t just advertising a product, I also promoted affirmations daily because affirmations are what helped me through some rough times.

After selling products on Goddess Detox I saw that having a self-love product wasn’t enough for women to really embody what it means to love themselves. I thought about having one easy access way to learn how to love yourself and hence the app was born. Originally it was supposed to be a learning hub.

Now women really enjoy the notifications they get to their phone daily and that makes me happy. These notifications now impact their day for the better as well as boost their self-esteem.

4. What is your educational background?

I went to Florida State University and received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and African American Studies and then attended Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and received my Master’s in Community Psychology.

5. What are your motivations?

My motivations are my future family for generational wealth, my freedom and my ancestors.

6. What advice do you have for other people who want to do this same thing?

My advice is, “make sure you have a reason why you are doing it, a bigger purpose and then to just do it.”

12. What is your greatest accomplishment?

Being able to work full time from home

13. As a person of color, what advice will you give someone starting their own business or career?

My advice would be to know what you want to sell, have a bigger meaning/purpose for it other than the service or product and then start doing it. It doesn’t have to be perfect to get out there. I would also say to use Instagram marketing through social influencers to your advantage.
