Yoga and Growth Design Specialist, Veronica Ashley-Reid discusses Yoga and Health.

What exactly are you into? What is your business all about?

I am into growth— spiritual, physical, mental, and financial. My business has two branches that ultimately connect. First, yoga- connecting the body and mind to healing options to improve our overall state of living. The second is Growth Designing.

I work with small business to help legitimize and growth their current business or business idea. Mostly connecting their purpose to their business in a way to help them grow financially.

I completed high school at the age of 17. Then attended multiple universities during my time in the service. Afterwards, attend art institute of Atlanta and graduated from the Atlanta school of massage for personal training. Also attending YogaFit for Yoga and Trauma Focused Yoga Training.

What are your motivations?

Freedom. Freedom for my people though understanding.

What advice do you have for other people who want to do this same thing?

Do it. Change you mind set to look at things in a way of how and when, know what you can do, not believe.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Wow, the sky is the limit. In five years I can see myself with a wellness center that houses yoga, kick boxing, parkour, and dancing. Having a space for healing and relaxation to those seeking it.

Any present or future projects?

My current project is to connect our community to more way to heal themselves. Providing free session to beginners, to young adults and kids at a cooperative learning center, and giving our people a better understanding of how purposed yoga helps.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve experienced in your business as a person of color?

There’s many challenges. Being prejudged for my hair is the most common one for me. In the service I wasn’t able to wear or take care of my hair as I need due to deployments and being assigned overseas. So after my discharge, moving to Atlanta, and starting my business I saw the difference in how my physical appearance was received.
